Marys Lake Lodge, Estes, Colorado Wedding | Katie & Justin

Weddings

I met Katie and Justin on a snowy night in Denver last year and we hit it off immediately (at least that was my taking haha!). It was obvious from the get-go that they were so in love and ready to be married. They were in search of someone who could capture their special day at Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes as their Wedding Photographer. I loved the way they discussed the purpose of their wedding, and how they both couldn’t wait to start this new chapter in their life.

The wedding was everything and more that I was expecting. It was filled to the brim with love and laughter, and Katie was the best bride. Justin woke up with a bug that day, but he made sure to do what he could to enjoy every moment, because they are so fleeting.

Here is there story through the bride’s eyes!:

Justin and I met working at Levi’s 5 years ago. Justin applied for a holiday position and ended up staying on after holiday. I was a manager and actually trained him. I guess we are a little scandalous…. Well we didn’t start dating for a few years after we first met. We worked together a lot as he was always my right hand guy. After a few years Justin ended up asking me out not once but about 4 times before I agreed to go get a drink with him. We worked together and I was technically his boss. Well that night we got a six pack and went to hang out at the baseball field in Parker, CO. This was the first time we ever really talked and got to know each other. That night we talked about everything and have been together ever since.

Fast forward 3 years later to the first week of July 2017… Justin and I went on vacation with my family and it was one for the history books. I was already so excited for that week to be at the beach with all my family.

Side note: 2017 has not been an easy one for me but this week made it a million times better. If you know my family or me you know about the loss of my father in March. This hit my family and me hard along with Justin. I knew when this all happened Justin was the one. I thought he was before but at that time I knew 100%.

So back to the beach… every day we woke up, had breakfast with the family, packed everything up, and went to the beach. Around noon every day we would leave the beach for lunch and for my nephews to take a nap and we would go to the pool. I loved our days together as a family and especially with Justin. Well Thursday night, July 6th (my brother Ben’s bday and his Gram’s b-day) the family went for a walk on the beach. Justin and I went out first and were talking and enjoying the beautiful evening. Justin asked me to go sit on the sand dunes to just talk and hang out so of course I said yes. We sat for just a little bit till we saw my sister, bro in law, mom and nephews. At this point Justin said let’s go back a see your family. I said ok and got up and started walking away. At that point Justin said “hang on I have something I want to ask you”. I turned around and he was on one knee with the ring. I said yes before he even asked and then said “sorry you have something to ask me”? He asked a very simple question. “Will you marry me”? Of course I said yes!!!

It was magical and we are so happy. It was more then perfect and I could not have asked for a better partner in life.
